Class 2-A

Class 2-A is the 8th grade class in Tokyo-3 First Municipal High School which Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Soryu, Rei Ayanami, Hikari Horaki, Kensuke Aida, and Toji Suzuhara are enrolled in. It is secretly a pool of potential Evangelion pilots, all gathered there by Nerv ostensibly for protection, as well as easy access.

- Background dialogue in Episode 05 refers to "Sections 2 and 3 of Class A", thus "Class 2-A" would seem to be "Section 2" of "Class A".
