I am thinking to buy these artbooks, despite their high price(40$,hoo boy that's a lot!)
Does anyone of you own them,so he can tell me if they really worth it?

The ground work, like the storyboard books, or filmbooks, are a vague bunch. I think the groundworks are interesting to look at, and a good reference for hardcore fans. I think Reichu is one of the few people I know to have put them to good use. I think she could give you a better opinion than I. Personally, I don't think they're of interest to anyone other than the hardcore Eva collector (like myself). There's quite a few books I would recommend over the Groundworks.

They aren't going to be very interesting unless you're interested in animation or the anime production process. For me, they have definitely been worthwhile -- but, I suspect, wouldn't appeal to most for any more than one flip-through. For the hardcore fan, indeed.

So they are all sketches with pencil?

A few color plates in the beginning of each one, but it's hardly worth forking over the incredible cover price just for those.

I guess any besides Groundwork 1... I don't have them with me right now, so I can't issue a proper recommendation.

#1 - 01-08.
#2 - 09-19.
#3 - 20-26.

If you want Asuka, you want #2 or #3.
