Avatar Leaves U.K. Much Love, And Rest With Icky Bad Feeling
If you haven't heard of or seen Avatar: The Last Airbender, either go see it right now, or slap yourself on the wrist before reading this thread. Those who have lives may excuse yourselves from the latter instruction.
As of tonight, good ol' U.S. of us have been blessed with 6 episodes of the third season, aka the "fire book". This is going along with a one episode per week schedule that's supposed to go on for 10 episodes, which should hopefully sustain us until February for the final 10. However, for reasons I'm to ignorant and lazy to look up, The U.K. networks have decided to air two episodes a night for a couple of nights in a row, the 25th and 26th, and cover the initial 10 episodes off the bat. By my limited Discrete Mathematical reckoning, that means all the episodes in the first half of the season have just been aired somewhere else.
Now, I'm not gonna rant about how I'm feeling jealous of the general Europe area right now (which I am), or how I could easily get these episodes for myself through less conventional means (which I already did). What grinds my gears is that a television network would make the decision to give out the whole pie at once simply for the ratings, when it leaves the fanbase high and dry afterwards. It's comparable to having sex: the process of going through it is hopefully fantastic, yet when your done you only have that sense of shame and boredom, possibly with a side of STD. The sex- sorry, stuck on that tangent. The showing of episodes should be as extended as possible, which has the merits of both providing a steady form of entertainment for the viewers, and shortening the time frame until the next batch of goodies.
Instead, they decided to grab the extremely high rating they knew they'd get, without any care for how the creators or fans would have wanted it. I'm not gonna say it was a poor economical decision on their behalf, because I'm sure people will view the reruns as well. I'm just so ticked that they think so little of the audience itself, even though I know it's not really mandatory in the line of work that involves making money. Then again, morals and understanding are never mandatory either.
And yes, I do feel a sense of shame thank you.

If everyone gets to see it at some point, then that's all that matters. Those that see it first can use the remaining time to find something else to do. Not everyone swoons over the "opportunity" to have to get home to catch a show for more weeks than is minimally possible. After all, a period of anticipation can be just as juicy.
I suspect live action Avatar and live action Eva films will go head to head 4-5 years from now
Who is "Codename V"?....
I'm pleased to meet you and I hope you guessed my name, but what's puzzling you, is the nature of my game...so catch me if you can!! (0:50)

You say you say you want a REvolution?...

So, uh...he's actually banned?
That sucks. Hopefully bullshit on his part.

He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

Not knowing that Monk is bi is like not knowing the Pope is Catholic - ZapX
You're either really bad at interpreting jokes or really good at pretending you are and I have no idea which.-Monk Ed
WAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!(<-link to lunacy)...Taste me, if you can bear it. (Warning: Language NSFW)
The main point of idiocy is for the smart to have their lulz. Without human idiocy, trolling would not exist, and that's uncool, since a large part of my entertainment consists of mocking the absurdity and dumbassery of the world, especially the Internet.-MaggotMaster

Awesomely Shitty
-"That purace has more badassu maddafaakas zan supermax spaceland."
-On EMF, as a thread becomes longer, the likelihood that fem-Kaworu will be mentioned increases exponentially.
-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

.....I'm at a loss for words. But I'll attempt to say something anyway.
Yeah, Maggot Master seemed kinda trollish at times, but I thought he was at least able to stay on-topic when need be. In honor of Maggot Master: "Your zany humor shall be missed, good sir. Also, cocks."
With Avatar, doesn't it have some type of American-anime looking style, or no? I've literally heard of it, but haven't seen it or anything.
Still, it's good to know that Nick is doing well with that show; I remember when I reached my teens, the shows on Nick were slooowly starting to suck. (Doug on ABC? The Rugrats being older? Alex Mack ending, Space Cases being canceled, and All That getting a new cast?! Noooooo!)
I actually have something akin to a Life with I'm not on the forums ("How can we kill something that has no life?"), hence why I'm asking. Though when I was a young'ng, that was a different story. ^^; (I watched WAY too much TV then.)

As for this Avatar thing, I keep hearing good things but have no way to watch. Is it really all it's cracked up to be?

Don't forget about AEF. He counts as the same person, too, I think. :P
What? You're gonna pay for that...
Oh, but God forbid any of these theories have any validity! After all, we are just brainwashing innocent people with Reichu's fanclub propaganda!--Trigger's Elysium sarcasm for the masses!
