Even when being tentacle raped, Rei isn't exactly a squealer... That's the point I was (too cryptically) trying to make.

Can you imagine that scene if the movie had been "When Harry met Rei"?

I can assure you that it wasn't obvious at all! Are you sure this is what the script says?!

Um, her face is flushed, and she's doing the 'head back, eyes closed, back arched' thing. Yeah, I'd say it's pretty obvious...

And you're how old?

Are you sure this is what the script says?!

It's not exactly advanced Japanese. Even Reichu can figure this one out.

:sigh:

Kutsuu (pain) to (and) kairaku (pleasure) no irimajitta (mixed) hyoujou (facial expression) no UP (closeup)

Her facial expression is one of mixed pain and pleasure (closeup)

Not sure, but it sure is a long-standing fetish; what with erotic woodcuts from the 1820s showing something rather like this apposite image:

Isn't it something to do with the fact that the censors wouldn't originally allow the drawing of penis', so artists started using tentacles, which are the closest they could get away with? :?

Or something.

I couldn't make out the pic at first. I then found myself slowly tilting my head.

WoW this thread has lived longer then I ever though it would.

Ho well on with the show

Does anoy one thing old Gendo was screwing Rei on the side? You know Gendo would do anything to realize his goals.

Theirs just somthing about that the emotionlessness Rei shows that just reminds me of an abused child.

You can even look up those words for yourself, since I'm certain that you will still prefer to doubt.

It's a long-running joke between Reichu and myself that the NERV senior officers get the perk of being able to borrow a Rei-clone from the tank for a night of giggly, lolita-loving.

I've always wondered what a soleless Rei would be like if you took it out of the Rei tank. . .

Probably easily amused, and very possibly liquid in form. In the case of the latter being true, the "rental" scheme would involve scuba gear. And multiple "partners", unless there's a "private room" in the tank.

I'm not sure I'd put too much water in the idea that the tank was somehow holding them together.

And don't encourage OMF to look up romaji, especially where kanji compounds (where homophones are a dime a dozen) are concerned. It's gotten him confused at least twice before.

The Japanese script JPGs can be provided for anyone who wants them. And if you don't know how to look up kanji... well, too bad! ;)

The clones didn't start to lose integrity until Ritsuko did the "destrudo release" from her handheld. I think that's the cause of their physical form. "Locking" that destrudo (as the handheld said before her command).

Besides the clones didn't turn into LCL, their remains still float by episode 25'. I bet the clones shared the same destiny as the 4th Angel, as during episode 5:

Kozou: This is the core... How is the rest?

Engineering Staff: The degradation is very serious. It isn't suitable
for a sample.

I guess most will agree that cores are "soul-vessels", they can contain souls same as Rei clones are vessels and can contain souls. So, the place for the soul of that Angel was destroyed, but it didn't turn into LCL. It "degraded", and I think the same happens to the clones.

AA, I think by "the rest" they meant the rest of the core. You know, the part that got prog-knifed. If Shamshel were "degraded", Ritsuko wouldn't have been so giddy earlier: “I see. Almost everything except the core remains intact. Truly an ideal sample.”
