Asuka in ep 9. Quick explanation please

I really like how in the flashbacks the scenes are changed slightly, like in the first picture, Shinji was behind her, not on the other side of Kaji. It kind of brings home that she was jealous that Kaji had a professional interest in Shinji while he had been ignoring her.

-And... ooooh, getting your cherry popped on your surrogate mom's tatami. KINK-Y. They could probably use whatever toys she has lying around, too, to enhance the experience.
-Knowing Misato, she has to have at least one glowing purple uin-uin.

Considering the incident on the ship, I can't blame him for wanting to keep his distance.

Kaji's "professional" interest in Shinji seems to evolve into an informal niisan/surrogate dad relationship.

the incident on the ship? not too much comes to mind, yet even after that (if you're refering to the episode where they both get in unit 02.) Kaji does pay some attention to her, like when he takes her shopping. After that he begins ignoring her.

well I know that episode... maybe i wasn't paying attention to the surroundings.. i always thought that was back in Germany and not on a ship.

but yeah.. duh.. it happens right before Misato Shinji etc arrive on the chopper?

Even so, her advances hardly phase him. I'd even say that as far as Kaji is concerned, the incident on the ship is irrelevant. He distances himself from her simply because his secret agent job takes up all his time.

still as far as Kaji is concerned I don't think her outburst affected him in the slightest.

he ignores her because she's not important. he pays attention to Shinji on a few occasions because he is important. Asuka is jealous of Shinji, in her ep 22 flashback Shinji appears on the other side of Kaji.

Besides, when said suggestion was made, Asuka already had moved into Misato's apartment.
