Not entirely sure if this should go here... but whatever...

Does anyone have this collection of art work? It's a book put together by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, and as such, has plenty of his work in it (70 pages of Eva art). Now my question... does anybody have this and/or can recommend it? It isn't that expensive, but a recommendation is always nice.

Or does anyone know where I could get scans (I've checked google)?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated :D

I'm probably the only other person here who doesn't have this book. What I can tell you, however, is that Die Sterne Is most definitely not worth it... of course, that book only cost me $48.00, but it's just a collection of graphics that are easily found online.

I think that EvaMonkey.com's old format had frequent random appearances of Mond pics in it's upper left-hand corner, but I'm not sure. However, I'm sure that whatever's in Mond is probably stored somewhere online.

Any comments from someone in the know?

Nephilim, do you know where I could also find those shots? I'd rather not have to spend the money as well... could you direct me to a site?

lets put it this way, i usually start downloading at a full 2m/s then it drops to a stable 200k/s

this just went from 30 to 20.

and i use wireless, so downloads periodically stop. causing me to delete and retry til its finished

O_O

Thank you very much Neph... I don't have most of this art. Would make some nice avatars :) . The download only took me 20 seconds, you should retry it ShoKenju.

I think I still might pick up the book... just to have them in tangible form. Does anyone here actually own the book?

Which pics?

Here's a tip aboout the contents of Die Sterne. If you've ever seen an official Evangleion picture somewhere online, whether it's a poster, a T-shirt, or one of those odder wallscrolls, it's in Die Sterne. The only real exceptions would be stuff that's been made since it was published, which I, for one, have never seen. Oh, and there are no game screenshots, it's simply graphics. Those UCC adds? In there. Even that chilling depiction of Rei in the bikini's in there. Also within is a thin section devoted to some of the better works of fan art.

From what's I'm hearing about Der Mond, it also contains some art from Nadia. But then, I'm sure you already knew that.

Yep, it's got a lot of his Eva works in it. They're all well known images now. Also, as Hexon said, there's a few Nadia images, and a few miscellaneous other images as well.
I have the entire thing scanned... :insert hint ninja here:
We'll see whachu' got.

i bought it a last year. A bit pricey (i think it was $28) but a great collection of images.

Coming from someone who creates his own manga regularly, its fun to look at it from a stylistic standpoint. Its cool to compare his COPiC stuff to his Painter/Photoshop stuff. I'm pretty sure the first Painter pic is that one of early one of Nadia in yet another revealing outfit...the early sketches of the eva characters are fun, too.

Good book, overall.

I have this book! It's really quite fantastic, actually. I had seen most of the pictures before, in some shape or form, but having them all gathered together in stunning high-quality, complete with notes from Sadamoto is great! I often just take it out and spend a while looking through it! I got it for about €13, which is NOTHING, considering what the release is (a massive, hardcover book).

I say: Get it! ^_^

Der Mond was released by Viz in English a while back...

Although this is a Hella-old post, for anybody that's currently interested in such things, here:

Did anyone ever transcribe the English parts? For example, I'm getting a little tired of relying on Bochan_bird's quick translation of just an excerpt from the Sadamoto interview, especially if there's an existing full English translation I could use.

(Reichu said (http://forum.evageeks.org/viewtopic.php?p=28507#28507) that Eva Monkey was supposed to do that, but since that was in 2005, I guess he never did.)
