Signature (image) policy

I'm cracking down on image based signatures. Images take time to load, and sometimes they can be rather large and clutter the forum. Image based signatures are allowed only for the purpose of advertising a site, service, or project. For example, Wildarms and Crazyman have image signatures to GangstaCity, their Webcomic. That is perfectly alright. Image signatures are not simply there to look cool, or display your favorite character. If you want to design an image signature for a Deviant Art or Live Journal, that's fine, just so long as it serves some function advertising purpose. Also, there are size restrictions, check the rules for more info.

but now seriously,images were taking some time to load and cluttered the forum..maybe that's a good idea afterall...i'm just sorry for max,which spent his time for making mine sig,for nothing in the end.. :cry: ..sorry max..

Since EM might not be around for a while, maybe I should actually use my mod position. I have PMed Shin about the sig since it's not under the policies asking him to remove it or change it.

For whatever reason, this has been allowed to get out of control beyond all proportions.

Also, overly long signatures are a big problem these days.

Rules wrote:Signatures should be as small as possible. Avoid using large signatures, please. Signatures are "signatures", they say who you are, where you're from, and what you're working on. You can put your name, an add for a website you work on, etc. I would advise heavily against putting excessive quotes, what anime you're watching, etc. Signatures should be used as such.

Many people don't seem to be taking these guidelines very seriously, if they've actually looked at them at all.

I'm getting tempted to just pull out a machete and start hacking away, but I figured people should at least get some warning first.
