I am thinking to buy these artbooks,despite their high price(40$,hoo boy that's a lot!)
Does anyone of you own them,so he can tell me if they really worth it?

The ground work, like the storyboard books, or filmbooks, are a vague bunch. I think the groundworks are interesting to look at, and a good reference for hardcore fans. I think Reichu is one of the few people I know to have put them to good use. I think she could give you a better opinion than I. Personally, I don't think they're of interest to anyone other than the hardcore Eva collector (like myself). There's quite a few books I would recommend over the Groundworks.

They aren't going to be very interesting unless you're interested in animation or the anime production process. For me, they have definitely been worthwhile -- but, I suspect, wouldn't appeal to most for any more than one flip-through. For the hardcore fan, indeed.

A few color plates in the beginning of each one, but it's hardly worth forking over the incredible cover price just for those.

Yeah it's pretty expensive..I think i'll just buy the first volume and if i like the way it is,i'll buy the others too!^_^
