Eva 3.0’s film runtime is 106 minutes

Minna No Eva Fan blog has reported that Evangelion Q’s runtime is officially 106 minutes. How long the eventual 3.33 DVD / BD version of the film would be obviously remains to be seen.

New Evangelion 3.0 TV Spot

A new 15 second or so TV commercial for the new movie was released. A lot of the footage is similar to the theatrical trailer but there’s a couple of shots that are new. Namely, one of Shinji looking a bit down while listening to something, and one with Asuka in the entry plug.

And, Asuka in her plugsuit, getting pumped for something:

But the interesting thing here is in the display behind her, which looks like it says EVA-02’γ or maybe EVA-02’V:

The “space” fight shots of Asuka from previous trailers clearly show that she’s in EVA-02’β, so this could mean a different configuration for Eva-02, and more specifically that there’s more than one Asuka-in-Eva-02 scene, possibly a different battle.

You can see the entire TV Spot on youtube:

Australian Evangelion Art Exhibition Tour – 2013

Madman Entertainment, the major distributor of Evangelion and most anime in Australia, has recently announced an Evangelion Art Exhibition Tour that is scheduled to hit the east coast in 2013. The exhibition will display original concept and production art, character drawings, Evangelion books, statues and tapestries that are said to provide a “unique and extensive insight into how the famed Evangelion animated films were created”. Whether or not the exhibition will focus solely on the films and not the TV series is unclear.

The tour will begin on the 17 of April at the Gold Coast City Gallery before moving to Sydney and concluding in Melbourne, full dates below.

Madman still seems to be hopeful for an Australian screening of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, stating that “an Australian release date will follow as soon as it can be confirmed”.

Full Tour Dates:

  • Gold Coast City Gallery: Wednesday 17th April – Sunday 5th May 2013
  • The Japan Foundation Art Gallery Sydney : Friday 10th May – Saturday 18th May 2013
  • Melbourne dates TBA

New Theatrical Trailer for Evangelion 3.0 released

The official website has released the latest Evangelion 3.0 trailer which was originally released in theatres on November 1st. Lots of it are shots from the previous trailers but also some new action shots and some interesting stills.

There’s 3 shots from the trailer that are particularly intriging. The small thumbnail above looks like someone who looks a bit like Misato. There’s also this pink haired girl wearing what looks like a bridge uniform:

And this brand new pink Evangelion:

Which looks like the Eva-08α drawing that Anno made for the lantern festival. Both characters look suspiciously like the silhouettes (far left) from the Real Eva Store in Tokyo:

All of this happening while a new piece of music plays in the background by Shiro Sagisu, “The Wrath of God, in All it’s Fury”.

You can view the trailer from the Bandai Channel on the Evangelion website, but it’s region locked. You can also view it on Nico Video, but you’ll need an account or one of those nicoview sites. You can also DOWNLOAD a copy locally hosted and re-encoded by yours truly.

Update: It’s been posted on Youtube.

New Evangelion 3.0 Trailer on November 1st 2012

The official Evangelion website blog  mentioned a new 3.0 trailer will be revealed on Thursday, November 1st 2012. It will apparently be screened in theaters. Maybe we’re finally getting a Beautiful World or Fly Me to the Moon trailer? More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Kaworu from the trailer according to Cinema Today JP:

Evangelion 3.0 OST released on November 28th

The Original Soundtrack to Evangelion 3.0 will be released on Wednesday, November 28th according to Minna No Eva Fan and Amazon.jp.

Nicovideo’s new site campaign releases sneak peak to Evangelion 3.0

During a “Zero” countdown to a Nicovideo site campaign, there was some hints at an Evangelion collaboration. With some Evangelion styled timer count-downs, we really didn’t get much.

But then it was time, 3am EST rolls around and Niconico (Japan’s very popular version of Youtube) does their new live release broadcast. People without premium accounts got kicked off as resources were reserved for people with premium accounts. Around 6am EST we finally got something. A short trailer-of-sorts for Evangelion 3.0, you can grab a copy of it HERE.

Amongst things of note:

  1. Shinji looks kind of pissed off, but that’s nothing new in these new movies.
  2. Kaworu is actually interacting with people (more importantly with Shinji).
  3. Asuka space scene, which we’ve previously seen in an unfinished TV-only preview
  4. Looks like a Kaworu + Shinji doing a “Quatre-mains” on a piano (Shinji’s hands being the less pale ones).
  5. Oh, and there’s one smug Mari

Will update the post as new things show up.

Someone uploaded it to Youtube:

NTV Roadshow to premiere first 6 mins 38 seconds of Q on Nov 16

NTV Roadshow will be premiering the first 6 minutes and 38 seconds of Q on Friday November 16th according to Studio Khara’s website.

Friday, November 9th at 9 (PM I’d assume) will air the TV version of Evangelion 1.0.

Then Friday, November 16th at 9 (probably PM) will air the TV version of Evangelion 2.0 PLUS the first 6 minutes and 38 seconds of Q (which is also being called “TV version” like 1.0 and 2.0 are).

No idea if the 6 minutes of TV 3.0 will be different from theatrical 3.0–which will make its theatrical debut the next day on Saturday, November 17th.

1/18 scale model of Misato’s Car from Evangelion 2.0

1/18 Nerv Official Business CoupeSince news of the upcoming Evangelion 3.0, You Can (Not) Redo, movie is almost disturbingly scarce, I’ll make a random news post since I like cars. AUTO Art Inc. and Wave Incorporated collaborated to make a 1/18th scale model of Misato’s Mazda Cosmo Sport from the previous Evangelion 2.0, You Can (Not) Advance, movie. The car comes with the Misato and Asuka PVC figures (which includes their bases) and a pretty nicely detailed 1971 Cosmo 110S, which is a pretty significant classic car amongst auto enthusiasts (Jay Leno owns one of these), being the first rotary (Wankel) engine production car.

The die-cast model is 223mm long with a zinc-alloy body, PVC parts and rubber tires. AUTO Art, Inc. was responsible for the actual car while Wave produced the 2 PVC figures (scultped by Hiroki Hayashi). Costing 18,900 円, it’s expected to have an October release date.

You can see more information about the Mazda Cosmo in the Eva Wiki.

Free Evangelion Magazine “IMA-EVA”

Part of the summer campaign to promote the upcoming Evangelion 3.0, You Can (Not) Redo, movie to be released on November 17th, there’s a new free magazine called IMA-EVA that’ll start distribution on July 28th. It’ll probably be similar to the printed EVA-EXTRA magazines that were freely distributed leading up to the premiere of Evangelion 2.0 during the summer of 2009. It looks like it’ll be a B5 print size with about 24 pages and will be available at the Evangelion Store in Tokyo, and later at Lawson’s stores starting on August 1st.

If it’s going to be similar to the old EVA-EXTRA’s from 2009, we’ll probably not get any exclusive sneak peaks into what 3.0 is going to be like. Most of those came in the form of official trailers, which were later broken down into the free magazines. But who knows? Maybe we’ll get some interviews which would be great.
